Split-second

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if one day while sitting in a café gazing idly out the window you were struck by what some don’t hesitate to call a moment of divine inspiration. Imagine but a second if you can the entire world revolving and dancing before your eyes, music humming, machines whirring, a woman leaning on the glass, children learning to tie their shoelaces under a table, all this passing by like a river when Bang! Eureka! The Idea of it! No more than neurons and earth but a thought of light implanted inside you there. Your secret, your child, your truth. A truth lain undisturbed since the first stone and to remain beyond the last. A shuddering hail of beauty. A Split-second. Any longer and you wouldn’t be able to carry on sitting in the café gazing idly out the window at people passing by whom you’ve always loved but have yet to meet.

Such a moment may have occurred to the woman in the window as I scribbled this message.
